Kitchen Crew (Cooking) – Job Requirements
Experience & Skills
- Minimum 1 year of experience working in a café or restaurant kitchen
- Confident in preparing pasta, brunch dishes, sides, and basic hot kitchen items
- Able to follow recipes accurately, maintain portion control, and ensure consistent food quality
- Quick learner with the ability to adapt to new menu items, cooking methods, and kitchen systems
- Possesses basic knife skills and understands the safe handling of kitchen tools and equipment
Attitude & Teamwork
- Reliable, punctual, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision
- Maintains a positive, respectful attitude toward team members and management
- Works efficiently under pressure, especially during busy or high-volume service periods
- Demonstrates good personal hygiene and contributes to a clean, organized, and teamwork-focused kitchen environment
Communication
- Able to understand basic instructions in Malay and/or English
- Can read and interpret kitchen tickets, prep lists, recipes, and station guidelines
Hygiene & Certification
- Valid Food Handling Certificate is required
- Typhoid vaccination is preferred
- Consistently practices proper kitchen hygiene, sanitation, and food safety procedures
Physical Fitness
- Able to stand for extended periods
- Comfortable with physical kitchen tasks such as lifting, bending, carrying, and prepping
Availability
- Willing to work long hours, rotating shifts, or split shifts
- (Typical shift: 11:30 AM – 11:30 PM with a 2-hour break)
- Available to work on weekends and public holidays
- Entitled to 1 scheduled day off per week
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: RM1, RM2,000.00 per month
