Role Purpose / Job Summary

Responsible for overall business development and sales activity throughout assigned market/product range, including developing new business opportunities with special focus On Commercial & Industrial Sector (C&I) or as defined from time to time.

To grow the Sales Volume, Value and Market share through the development of business within all

commercial channels of the business with existing products and new product ranges across countries and regions.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Develop and implement effective business strategies to expand market presence and customer base within assigned regions from time to time.
  • Identify, qualify, and manage new business leads, partners, and key accounts in the oil & gas downstream, fuel-handling and commercial & Industrial and civil construction equipment's sectors.
  • Engage with clients, consultants, and government agencies to understand project requirements and position OPW's solutions effectively.
  • Prepare and deliver technical and commercial proposals, presentations, and quotations in collaboration with the engineering and product teams.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with customers and vendors to achieve business objectives.
  • Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, competitor activities, and new business opportunities.
  • Coordinate prequalification, tender documentation, and proposal submissions to ensure compliance with client and project requirements.
  • Maintain accurate sales pipelines, forecasts, and client data using available/CRM tools.
  • Provide technical consultation and support to clients, including product demonstrations and after-sales coordination.
  • Represent the company at trade shows, exhibitions, webinars, and industry events to promote OPW's products and strengthen relationships.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal departments to ensure timely project delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Contribute to the development of marketing initiatives and promotional campaigns targeting the petroleum and industrial markets.
  • Perform other tasks or duties as assigned by the Line Manager or Management.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (or related technical discipline).
  • Minimum 5–6 years of experience in business development, sales engineering, or project management within the Oil & Gas, Petroleum Equipment, Fuel Systems, Industrial capital goods, civil & construction and/or related industries.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills in English (both written and verbal) and malay

  • Demonstrable connections in architects' associations, civil construction industry & associations to open doors for OPW products finding very wide applications,

  • High initiative and self-motivation -able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, able to offer creative solutions to customer challenges.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Commitment to high performance, integrity, and professional conduct.
  • Willingness to travel regionally for client meetings, exhibitions, and site visits at short notices.
  • Willingness to make cold calls, knock doors to solicit business opportunities within industry associations.
  • Should be a good listener, organizer & capable of rigor and able to mange himself/herself.
