JOB PURPOSE

  • Work as a team in performing day-to-day medical and non-medical underwriting assessment for submission for Family Takaful / Group Term Takaful, Group Credit Term Takaful, and Group Hospital & Surgical products within agreed Turn Around Time (TAT). Verify and decision making for underwriting cases within the executive's authority limit or recommend to Superior/Medical Advisor/Retakaful Operator for decisions that above underwriter limits or high risks. To monitor and ensure the smooth running of the operations for Family Takaful / Group Business Unit as well and ensure that the service performance is kept within the required Service Standard.

JOB DESCRIPTIONS

  • Daily non-medical and medical underwriting assessment for Family Takaful, Group Term Takaful, Group Credit Term Takaful, and Group Hospital & Surgical products from end to end abide by Standard Operating procedure (SOP) and Guidelines, approve application within authority limit granted and agreed Turn Around Time (TAT).
  • Monitoring volume of new submission and matching documents received and coordination task within underwriting unit to ensure cases attended within TAT.
  • Review underwriting process, guidelines and relevant correspondence includes liaising with Retakaful for enhancement in internal approach/ process competitive with market practice.
  • Liaising with Retakaful for advice/opinion on complicated cases or cases exceeded company retention limit. Also advise on guidelines/practices.
  • Review of lapse/endorsement cases from Certificate Management Department.
  • Carries out other tasks relevant to the position, as assigned by Head from time to time.
  • Countersigning cases from junior underwriters.
  • Continuous coaching/guiding underwriters in underwriting practice including underwriting requirements, updating system and deriving underwriting decision in both non-medical and medical assessment. This includes sharing real cases and explanation on the underwriting assessment findings and how to approach Retakaful guidelines.
  • Handle enquiries internal and external regarding both Group, MRTT & Individual products with firm and clear explanation to meet expectations.
  • Compiling underwriting guidelines and practice, also build internal guidelines as reference for underwriters for synchronization understanding and approach.
  • Attending meeting relevant to New Business and Underwriting as of when required.
  • Checking underwriting Monthly and Dashboard Report to Management.
  • Carries out other tasks or projects relevant to the position, as assigned by Management from time to time
  • Underwriting assessment for Non-Disclosure (ND) cases from Claims Department.

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Qualification: Degree in Business studies /or related fields
  • Experience: more than 8 years
