About the role

As a Lead Baker & Pastry Chef with Bb, you will play a vital role in creating delectable baked goods and pastries for our cafe locations in Malaysia. This full-time position is responsible for skillfully preparing a wide variety of breads, cakes, tarts, and other confections to the highest standards of quality and consistency.

What you'll be doing

  1. Create the kind of baked goods and pastries that stop people mid-conversation. We're looking for someone who knows and isn't afraid to push the creative boundary.
  2. Prepare and bake high-quality breads, pastries, and desserts
  3. Maintain a clean and organised work area, following health and safety protocols
  4. Assist with inventory management and ordering of necessary baking supplies
  5. Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items and improve existing recipes
  6. Share your expertise and knowledge to train and mentor junior bakers and pastry chefs

What we're looking for

  1. 3+ years of experience as a baker or pastry chef in a commercial kitchen environment
  2. Formal training or qualifications in baking, patisserie, or culinary arts
  3. Proficient in a variety of baking techniques, including mixing, proofing, and decorating
  4. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently under pressure
  5. Excellent time management and organisational skills
  6. A creative flair and passion for producing high-quality baked goods
  7. A team player with the ability to collaborate with the broader culinary team
