RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Lead process design and optimization initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

  2. To guide and coordinate designers in technical enquiries from internal/ external parties.

  3. Develop and maintain process documentation, including flow diagrams, design development records/ database for costing and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

  4. Check and verify Boiler Specification Record (BSR) against customer requirements in sales contract.

  5. To perform boiler design task, ensuring stress calculation and drawings was performed in accordance to BSR, Boiler or Unfired Pressure Vessel (UPV) design code (BS1113/BS 2790/ASME Sec.I or Sec.VIII Div.1and etc.) and statutory regulations (FMA.1967, EQA 2014 etc).

  6. To review and ensure accuracy of engineering design output from designer or draughtsman.

  7. To control all design task to be carry out within design schedule.

  8. Conduct site visits to assess and enhance existing boiler designs while assisting in feature improvements and optimizations for boiler applications.

  9. To attend meeting and provide technical expertise and materials (PFD, PID, supporting documents, etc) for tender and proposals.

  10. Liaise with 3rd inspecting party and JKKP for securing Boiler or UPV design approval.

  11. To assist in developing new product design.

  12. Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for process-related issues.

  13. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution.

  14. Monitor and analyze process performance metrics, providing recommendations for improvements.

  15. Mentor and train junior engineers and other staff on best practices and process methodologies.

  16. Stay current with industry trends and technologies to drive innovation.

EXPERIENCE / SKILLS REQUIRED:

  1. Degree in Mechanical/Chemical Engineering recognised by Board of Engineers (BEM)
  2. Engineering knowledge in heat transfer, combustion, strength of material and fluid mechanic.
  3. Knowledge in engineering drawing and able to operate CAD software (AutoCad 2D/SolidWork 3D).
  4. Accumulated experience on the process of boiler fabrication, installation, testing and commissioning, operation and maintenance
  5. Able to understand clearly and resolve the engineering design matter.
  6. Able to cope up with the market trend, price conscious, and exceed customer's expectations
