Job Purpose:

The Key Account Manager is responsible for managing relationships with strategic retail partners, ensuring that business objectives are met through effective account management. This role involves driving sales growth, negotiating commercial and trading term agreements, and executing marketing plans with key retail customers. The ideal candidate will have strong negotiation skills, a deep understanding of the retail channel such as IKA & LKA, and the ability to build long-term partnerships that deliver mutual value.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Account Management & Relationship Building

• Develop and manage relationships with key retail accounts to maximize sales opportunities and strengthen partnerships.

• Act as the primary point of contact for assigned key retail customers, ensuring timely resolution of issues and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.

• Conduct regular business reviews with key accounts to assess performance, identify growth opportunities, and ensure alignment with business objectives.

2. Sales & Revenue Growth

• Develop and execute account plans to achieve sales, revenue, and profitability targets within the retail channel.

• Collaborate with internal teams to develop effective pricing and trade offer mechanism to maximize ROI of company.

• Identify and leverage opportunities to expand the company's product portfolio and presence within retail key accounts.

3. Negotiation & Commercial Agreements

• Lead negotiations with key accounts on trade terms, pricing, promotions, and contracts to ensure win-win outcomes.

• Manage annual agreements, ensuring terms align with company objectives and drive profitable growth for both the company and the retail partner.

• Track and analyze the financial performance of key accounts, making recommendations for improvements or renegotiations as necessary.

4. Joint Business Planning & Promotions

• Work closely with retail partners to develop joint business plans, ensuring alignment on key initiatives such as new product launches, seasonal promotions, and marketing campaigns.

• Ensure flawless execution of agreed promotions and activities, working with marketing and supply chain teams to optimize in-store promotion and product availability.

• Manage A&P within budget and to optimize overall resource to maximize productivity, to advise management on best course of action.

5. Sales Forecasting & Reporting

• Prepare accurate sales forecasts for assigned key accounts, working closely with the demand planning team to ensure sufficient stock levels.

• Track and report on key account performance, providing insights into sales trends, market opportunities, and challenges.

• Use data-driven insights to adjust strategies, address underperformance, and capitalize on growth opportunities within key retail accounts.

6. Cross-functional Collaboration

• Collaborate with marketing, and supply chain teams to ensure the successful execution of promotions and product launches in key retail accounts.

• Provide feedback to internal teams on market trends, competitor activity, and customer preferences to influence product development and marketing strategies.

• Ensure alignment between sales, marketing, and customer service teams to deliver seamless customer experiences.

7. Payment Collection and Aging Responsibilities

• Manage customer accounts to ensure timely payments and minimize overdue balances.

• Proactively follow up on overdue payments and resolve issues with customers.

• Collaborate with Finance team to address account discrepancies and resolve billing disputes to facilitate prompt payment.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field.

• 3- 5+ years of experience in key account management, preferable in retail channel or FMCG industry.

• Possess some point of career exposure in an MNC (Multinational Company) before is highly preferred.

• Proven experience managing key accounts with a strong track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.

• Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with experience negotiating trade terms and contracts.

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data and make data-driven decisions.

• Stakeholder management skills and solution-oriented, self-motivated, results-oriented.

• Willing to work at Puncak Alam.
