Sales and Tendering Engineer

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and prepare technical and commercial proposals for substation building construction projects, ensuring they meet client requirements.
  • Review project specifications, drawings, and scope of work to ensure all aspects are understood and covered in the tender submission.
  • Provide accurate cost estimates, including material, labor, and equipment costs
  • Collaborate with the engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure that tender submissions are technically sound, feasible, and aligned with project requirements.
  • Ensure that all tender documents and proposals align with applicable QESH standards (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify potential risks in the tendering process related to safety, quality, and environmental factors, and propose mitigations in the submission.
  • Act as the primary point of contact with clients during the tendering phase, addressing any queries and ensuring that the tender submission aligns with client expectations.
  • Assist in the evaluation of bids from subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring that their proposals comply with project specifications, cost estimates, and requirements.
  • Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping of all tendering activities, including bids, technical specifications, and communications, for audit and future reference.

  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of tendering processes by identifying inefficiencies and suggesting improvements based on past project experiences.

  • Assist in preparing Bill of Quantities.

  • Study suppliers and sub-contractors offers and check for compliance with customer's specification.
  • To carry out sales, evaluate market trend for new business and new potential customers.
  • Undertake all other duties, tasks and responsibilities as required by the management.

JOB REQUIREMENT

Educational Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  2. Professional certifications in project management, sales, or related areas are an advantage.
  3. Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in sales, tendering, or business development within the construction industry, preferably in electrical substation projects.
  4. Proven experience in preparing and managing tenders, proposals, and cost estimates for large-scale construction projects.
  5. Strong understanding of the construction industry, electrical systems, and substation projects.
