Manufacturing Engineer

About the role

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible to monitor and ensure the correct implementation of the manufacturing and testing processes in multiple manufacturing location including contract manufacturer (CM) sites. He or she works in cooperation with manufacturing, quality and design teams to continuously improve the production yield, improve quality and reduce costs. He/she coordinates DFM (design for manufacturing) and DFX (design for testing) activities.

The ideal candidate for Manufacturing Engineer will be creative, energetic, flexible, possess a positive attitude and be eager to apply and expand their engineering skills in a highly ethical manner while supporting the Integrated Product Development Team model in which he or she will have overall accountability to ensure products are manufactured to meet engineering requirements, program budgets, and program schedules through performing the following specific activities:

• Responsible for the product knowledge transfer, ensuring the manufacturing processes set up are meeting product requirements.
• Develops and maintains manufacturing work flow, work instruction (SOP/WI).
• Ensure the accuracy of Product BOM released into PLM tools always reflecting to the actual build.
• Liase with Design engineer and DFM engineer to discuss about modify designs or revise manufacturing process to reduce materials and manufacturing cost of existing product (scrap cost reduction analysis)
• Establish/Maintain product Assembly Process and provide facilities & methods to ensure the cost effective integration of new products or for the improvement of existing products in the production.

• Identify Manufacturing requirements (4M+needs for new products in development.

• Minimises overall production costs while maximising productivity through continuous review and implementation of ideas for productivity improvements Access and analyse current production method, develop process improvement method without compromising the product quality.

• Response to machine breakdown, or line down and record with one-pager.
• Improve production efficiency by analysing production yield rate, station cycle time, analysing and planning work flow, space requirements and equipment layout.
• Ensure all the production activities & process comply with ISO standard & mandatory regulations. Ensures quality and process parameters of products meet specifications.

Requirements:

• Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Mechatronic, Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent.
• Required skill: Technical Drawing Understanding, Technical Analytical Skill, Documentation Skills, DFM/DFA, 3D Modeling & 2D Drawing , preferably Solidworks, Problem Solving
• Candidate with knowledge of materials, processes and battery power system related manufacturing techniques has an advantage
• 1~2 years of working experience in the related field is preferable but fresh graduates with CAD drawing skill by using Solidworks are encouraged to apply
• Able to multitask & work independently
• Language(s): English required, Chinese language preferred
