We are now hiring Mandarin-speaking Cooks and Chefs de Partie for our European River Cruise culinary team. Join a professional kitchen serving authentic Chinese and Western cuisine onboard luxury European river ships.

Job Description

Cook / Chef de Partie

  • Prepare and cook assigned dishes following Viking recipes and presentation standards.
  • Work in designated kitchen sections (hot, cold, or pastry) under Sous Chef supervision.
  • Assist in Chinese and Western cuisine preparation, plating, and daily food service.
  • Ensure food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness at all times.
  • Support team during embarkation days and special dining events.

Requirements

  • Fluent in Mandarin (spoken & reading).
  • Minimum 1–3 years' cooking experience in hotel, restaurant, or cruise kitchen.
  • Strong skills in Chinese cuisine or Western dishes is an advantage.
  • Good hygiene habits and professional kitchen behavior.
  • Culinary education or formal training is an advantage.
  • Appearance: No visible tattoos while in uniform

Interview Information

  • Online pre-screening (confirm experience and Chinese skill).
  • Final interview in Kuala Lumpur – November 27 (with Viking HR Director).​
  • Work Location: River Cruise Ship, sailing on the Rhine / Danube routes.
