New Product Development Executive

  1. Responsible for supporting new product development in achieving company's innovation and product development goals. This including customization solution for key account and industrial customer as well as inter-company and export market.
  2. Responsible to understand market competition by conducting market product benchmarking studies. To support on product rationalization involving product portfolio review & comparison studies.
  3. To ensure the ISO & Food Safety Management procedures are implemented in the department by managing NPD records, halal registrations and shelf-life testing reports.
  4. To lead product development projects and product quality improvement projects from concept to launch, ensuring timelines, goals, and cost targets are met.
  5. Plan, execute, validate and document laboratory and pilot-scale trials to test product performance, functionality, and consistency.
  6. Prepare product samples (dry premixes and baked samples) for customer presentation, internal evaluation, and sensory testing.
  7. To ensure IP control is in place. Control of formulation by ensuring smooth management of premixes to manufacturing.
  8. To provide technical assistance to both internal teams and external customers from laboratory to production by: -

o   resolve any operational issues arising from ingredient performance in customer applications or during production.

o   support Production department while commercializing new product manufacturing.

JOB REQUIREMENT

  1. Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemistry, Biotechnology, or a related field is common. A Diploma in Food/Beverage Technology or Engineering may also be considered for some roles.
  2. Experience in food product development, prototyping, and commercialization
  3. Experience in a food manufacturing environment is preferable.
  4. Strong knowledge of food technology, ingredient functionality, and food safety standards (e.g., HACCP, ISO 22000, MESTI) is essential.
  5. Understanding of Halal requirements and regulatory compliance is crucial for many positions.
  6. Proficiency in food safety procedures, recipe development, and quality improvement solutions is key.
  7. Creativity, curiosity, and a hands-on approach to problem-solving are highly valued.
  8. Teamwork and the ability to work cross-functionally are also frequently mentioned.
