About the Role

This role will be reporting into Agency Technology and Digitalisation (AT&D) for Agency Distribution in AIA Malaysia.

AT&D is responsible for the end-to-end ownership, management and maintenance for all agency portfolio of assets (13 platforms) supporting >20,000 agency force across Malaysia.


As the product owner, incumbent will be responsible to lead all aspects of the operations and strategic direction for ALPA and iPOS.

Both platforms are hugely critical to the growth and operations of Agency Distribution Malaysia.

  • Drive and orchestrate strategic discussions on ALPA and iPOS with key business leaders to craft impact initiatives to support business growth
  • Understand key agency metrics to identify potential pain points/ opportunities for targeted intervention via ALPA and iPOS.
  • Lead the existing team and guide and assist them with Discovery Workshops, Requirement Gathering User Story Management, Product backlog Tracking, UAT Strategy and Planning, Test Case Review and ensuring that all projects are delivered on time with expected quality.
  • Require solid understanding of AIA SDLC ways of working in embracing Agile environment, User Requirement / User Story documentation, UAT and implementation of complex requirements.
  • Understands AIA collaborators to be able to navigate for requirements and proceed to implementation with quick turnaround in order to support business growth.
  • Validated ability and expertise in gathering, analyzing, and detailing complex business requirements with multiple collaborators.
  • Engage crossfunctional teams to complete the SDLC process on planned initiatives and work closely with onground teams to capture feedback on efficiency.
  • Ensure 100% stability and 100% availability of ALPA and iPOS which are essential to business continuity.
  • Performs other responsibilities and duties periodically assigned by supervisor to meet operational and/or other requirements in accordance with AIA governance and standards.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in transformation with a consistent track record in digitalisation, experimentation with different technologies and technology platform deployments.
  • Minimum 7 year of experience in leading in a fastpaced, highdemand, performance delivery environment.
  • Experience in both Core & Digital Projects environment: Validated experience in complex implementations of core / digital projects with deep understanding of challenges and expectation management of such environment.
