  • About the Role
  • As a Lead, you will be accountable for leading a team on the delivery of general ledger accounting, period end close, reporting requirements for Marketing to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure conformance with the BHP Charter, the BHP Our Requirements, Code of Conduct and relevant statutory obligations;
  • Demonstrate an overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainable development;
  • Manage the Period End Close processes to ensure accurate results and ledgers closed on time for Group Reporting, Tax and External Joint Venture deliverables;
  • Perform trial balance, system validation and general ledger reconciliation reviews to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial results reported.
  • Coordination and review of monthly group reporting deliverables, annual statutory reporting, half yearly briefing papers with variance analysis commentary for external reporting and annual stewardship reviews.
  • Work to drive standardisation, improvement initiatives, collaboration and continue to embed BOS Practices in the daytoday activities.
  • Support and build relationships with Global Accounting and Reporting, Marketing Finance Business Partners, Sales Operations, Credit & Risks, and other stakeholders across the region;
  • Manage SOX compliance by ensuring adequate internal controls are in place and working effectively to address the associated risks;
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors in the review of financial results, testing of controls, providing information and addressing queries;
  • Support and coach team members to ensure Group performance targets are achieved, as well as continuously developing the team
  • About You
    Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree qualification in Accounting or Finance.
  • Completed relevant professional qualifications (CPA/ACCA/CIMA/CA).

Experience & Technical Competencies

  • Minimum of 7 years' experience working with a large corporate or shared service function
  • Experience in leading teams and engaging global stakeholders will be added advantage
  • Demonstrated strong business acumen, risk management skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage deadlines effectively
  • Demonstrated experience working in SAP system

Languages:

  • Fluent English, both verbal and written
