Specialist / Senior Specialist Stock Borrowing & Lending

The task is to process various tradable financial instruments for the Commerzbank Group and its customers. This includes supporting the sales units through careful, legally secure, swift, and cost-effective processing. Employees of this service group are committed to the proper handling of the processes, considering all internal, product-specific, and regulatory standards. Comprehensive knowledge of the processes within the respective process bundle is required to process the processes. All employees are responsible for their area of responsibility independently, deal with the processes on their own initiative and comprehensively acquire the system knowledge required for the job. In addition, language skills are required to varying degrees depending on the process bundle. These language skills are determined by the Employees are continuously evolving.

The incumbent will be responsible for the following Services within the team:

  • Check, pay and book invoices for trading (broker invoices) across various trading products such as foreign exchange, bonds, interest rates, stocks, indices, and commodities.
  • Independent handling of their area of responsibility and comprehensive acquisition of the knowledge required for the job.
  • Commitment to proper handling of processes, considering all internal and regulatory standards.
  • This position is based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

  • Maintain sustainable service capability to the business with firm controls and efficiencies over the assigned tasks.
  • Deepen skills and knowledge of business processing and technical understanding of business applications.
  • Ensure teamwork within the unit/department and organization.
  • Analyse and respond to queries from internal and external clients with minimal supervision.
  • Achieve processing turnaround standards as stipulated in the Service Level Agreement.
  • Meet and/or exceed expectations in handling complex cases in terms of processing efficiency and accuracy.
  • Support implementations and initiatives carried out by Management and Company/Group.
  • Proactively contribute new ideas and concepts to improve operational processes.
  • Ability to multi-task within product handling and provide proactive support to the team.

KEY ACTIVITIES:

  • Independent review and assurance of efficient, accurate and timely processing of brokerage invoices from all trading areas.
  • Review of fee and commission invoices from the sales areas.
  • Creation of new customers and allocation of trading transactions as well as payment and posting of invoices.
  • Perform cash management and control of nostro accounts.
  • Creation and dispatch of invoices to the trade.
  • Pre-posting of documents and monitoring the receipt of money.
  • Attend to complaints/investigations in case of deviations.
  • Payment and posting of invoices for daily tasks.
  • Proper maintenance of databases and systems.
  • Control and maintenance of work equipment and documents.
  • Self-responsible quality assurance within the framework of sustainability.
  • Coordinate with international brokerage agencies to ensure correct processing and proper billing.
  • Supervise and perform day-to-day tasks of the SBL Brokerage Team to ensure timely processing.
  • Motivate and guide junior team members.
  • Act as a source of specialist information to the team and other departments, contributing to training and documentation.
  • Proactively offer help in project liaison with other departments.
  • Support Group Head in achieving process efficiency and effectiveness through change management and continuous improvement.
  • Support Commerzbank Group during KL Public Holidays if it's a working day in Frankfurt, Europe, and New York.
  • Support additional tasks assigned by Group Head and subject to job rotation.

FORMAL EDUCATION:

University degree / diploma / tertiary education.

SPECIALIST KNOWLEDGE (WORK EXPERIENCE, FURTHER QUALIFICATIONS)

  • At least 3-5 years' experience in a similar capacity.
  • Strong product knowledge in a wide range of financial instruments, especially in bookings and settlements.
  • PC and Microsoft Office skills.
  • Willingness to work in a team, reliability, service orientation, flexibility, goal orientation, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of English is mandatory.
  • Initial knowledge of securities is desirable.
  • Good problem-solving skills with the ability to apply up-to-date knowledge and best practices to develop value-added solutions.

WORKING HOURS:

  • Employee scheduled to work from 3pm to 12am, with shifts changing during daylight savings to 4pm to 1am.
  • May also be required to attend during office hours of 9am to 6pm as necessary.
