Why does this job exist and why is it critical?

Manage employee relations matters and to foster a workforce that is committed to inculcate high integrity culture, uphold good corporate governance, to minimise risk to the business and the Company, in line with the Company’s zero-tolerance policy.

a) Comprehensive planning in resolving company-wide disciplinary matters - including conducting investigation and/or holding domestic inquiries, dealing with various stakeholders, Investigation Officers, etc.

b) Provide support, guidance and recommendations to the business in managing risk to the business.

c) Process labour disputes and grievances in a proper and timely manner

d) Increase and strengthen compliance awareness companywide and upskilling managers by educating managers on a range of employment laws topics to ensure legal compliance

e) Manage cases at Industrial Office or escalation to Industrial Court by working closely with our appointed external legal counsels

Project manage the Maxis Code of Business Practice

a) Review of the Code in ensuring that it is in line with Company’s initiatives and aspiration

b) Manage the annual employee acknowledgement exercise and ensure compliance of the Code by the employees

c) Create and initiate awareness sessions / organize awareness programs

Maintain cordial relationship with government authorities i.e. labour office, industrial relations department, external counsels, government authorities, etc

Assist CHRO on presentations to Defalcation Committee, &/or Audit & Risk Committee in relation to compliance matters

Roll out company-wide compliance initiatives, & or newsletters to targeted audience on a periodic basis.

Preventive education and process enhancement to fix current gaps and loopholes which includes best practice sharing to employees in townhalls, employee engagement opportunities by updating the latest policies adopted by forward leaning companies that Maxis aspires to be and keeping Maxis abreast with the latest in this field

Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree specialized in: Human Resources and Labour Law or LLB preferred

Total Relevant Experience: 7 to 10years in Industrial Relations matters
