Business Development Manager

As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for identifying, pursuing, and securing new business opportunities to drive revenue growth. Your primary focus will be on developing and executing effective strategies to expand our client base within the freight forwarding industry. You will collaborate closely with the sales and operations teams to ensure the successful implementation of new business ventures while maintaining strong relationships with existing clients.
**Principle Accountabilities**:
**1. Sales**
- Develop and execute comprehensive business development strategies to achieve revenue targets and expand market presence.
- Identify potential areas for business growth, market trends, and competitor activities to capitalize on emerging opportunities.
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential target clients and industries.
**2. Client Acquisition and Relationship Management**:
- Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities, including lead generation, prospecting, and networking.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers, stakeholders, and strategic partners within the freight forwarding industry.
- Conduct effective sales presentations, negotiations, and proposals to secure new client contracts.
**3. Sales and Revenue Generation**:
- Drive sales activities to achieve and exceed revenue targets, including developing and managing a robust sales pipeline.
- Collaborate with the sales team to develop competitive pricing strategies and tailored solutions for clients.
- Monitor sales performance, analyze trends, and implement corrective actions when necessary.
**4. Account Management**:
- Ensure high client satisfaction by overseeing the onboarding process and managing client expectations.
- Coordinate closely with the operations team to ensure smooth service delivery and resolve any issues or concerns raised by clients.
- Conduct regular business reviews and develop strategies to maximize client retention and increase customer loyalty.
**5. Market Intelligence and Reporting**:
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes that may impact the freight forwarding industry.
- Prepare regular reports and provide insightful analysis on business development activities, sales performance, and market opportunities.
**Job Requirements**:
- Bachelor’s Degree holder or above in logistics, transportation or related disciplines
- Proven track record in business development within the freight forwarding industry.
- In-depth knowledge of freight forwarding, and supply chain solutions.
- Strong understanding of market dynamics, industry trends, and customer requirements.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence key stakeholders.
- Results-oriented mindset with a strong drive for achieving targets and exceeding expectations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a strategic mindset.
- Proficiency in using CRM software and other relevant sales tools.
- Self-starter, able to work under pressure with mínimal supervision.
- Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills, with a keen eye for details.
**Salary**: RM8,000.00 - RM18,000.00 per month
