JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
What you will do:
- The Associate Reporter’s main function is to report, write, & package stories & features for the daily and weekend bulletins for the specific unit you will be assigned to.
- You will generate story ideas, go for interviews & other news gathering events, go for assignments, write scripts & do voice over. You also will be oversee the quality of the visuals taken by the cameramen.
- Monitor & pick up specialised story from the foreign/local feeds and rewrite/translate the story for the daily or weekend bulletins.
- Edit the visual & liaise with the graphic artist for supporting graphics for the stories.
- Generate story ideas/and or be assigned stories for feature/special packages for the daily bulletins and/or any programmes.
- It is essential with good and advanced reporting experience either with television or the newspapers. You must develop a wide network of contacts and sources to tap for story ideas.
- You may also be required to perform other editorial and production functions outside your usual duties at certain times in a multi-tasking environment.
