Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Governance Manager to join our team at Hong Leong Group. As a Data Governance Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive data governance strategy that aligns with our organizational objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Implement Data Governance Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive data governance strategy that prioritizes critical data elements and capabilities.
  • Roll Out Data Governance Framework: Roll out a company-wide data governance framework that emphasizes data ownership, stewardship, and data quality improvements through culture, process changes, and technology.
  • Define Roles and Responsibilities: Define roles, responsibilities, and the operating model for data governance activities to ensure clear accountability for data stewardship.
  • Maintain Data Governance Framework: Maintain the data governance framework, including data cataloging, metadata management, and ensuring data accessibility and accountability.
  • Lead Data Domains: Lead and manage key data domains such as data governance, data quality management, master data management, and data sharing.
  • Support Business Units: Support business units and data domains in understanding and leveraging the benefits of effective data governance.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Collaborate with IT, Information Security, Digital Transformation, and business stakeholders to provide regular progress updates.
  • Deploy Data Governance Tools: Support the deployment and utilization of data governance tools, including business glossaries, data catalogs, data dictionaries, data quality metrics, and data lineage tracking.

Requirements:

  • Experience: 3-6 years of experience in the banking, financial services, or insurance industry, with extensive experience in data governance and management.
  • Proven Track Record: Proven track record in data governance and data management.
  • Skills: Strong planning and implementation skills to effectively support data governance initiatives. Familiarity with data governance requirements, emerging trends, and issues. Knowledge of industry best practices in data governance and data management. Expertise in data classification, management, lifecycle management, and data quality. Proficiency with data governance tools and technologies. Intermediate knowledge of data analytics, data visualization (Tableau, PowerBI), SQL, with Python being an advantage.
  • Good to Have: Preferably, experience in data-related roles and/or in data governance. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Meticulous attention to detail. Capable of navigating ambiguity with a solution-focused approach. Highly motivated with excellent time management and prioritization skills. Dedicated and able to work independently. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and engage with senior stakeholders effectively.
