Job Title: Senior Director, PETE Engineering

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Director, PETE Engineering to join our team at Western Digital. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing and enhancing the test engineering functions within our semiconductor manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a comprehensive test engineering strategy aligned with the company's goals and objectives. Provide leadership and direction to the test engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
  2. Test Engineering Management: Oversee the design, development, and execution of test plans, methodologies, and procedures for semiconductor products. Ensure that testing processes are efficient, effective, and meet industry standards.
  3. Team Development: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of test engineers and technicians. Provide guidance and support for career development, performance evaluations, and skill enhancement.
  4. Process Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives in test engineering processes, tools, and methodologies. Implement best practices and leverage advanced technologies to enhance testing efficiency and effectiveness.
  5. Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including design, manufacturing, quality assurance, and product management, to ensure seamless integration of test engineering with overall product development and manufacturing processes.
  6. Budget Management: Develop and manage the test engineering budget, including capital expenditures, operational costs, and resource allocation. Ensure cost-effective solutions while maintaining high standards of quality.
  7. Compliance and Standards: Ensure that all test engineering activities comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and company policies. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and advancements in test engineering.
  8. Problem Solving: Address and resolve complex test-related issues, including failure analysis and troubleshooting. Provide technical expertise and guidance in diagnosing and solving test-related challenges.

Requirements:

  1. Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree or Ph.D. preferred.
  2. Experience: Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in test engineering within the semiconductor industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership or managerial role.
  3. Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of semiconductor test methodologies, test equipment, and data analysis. Familiarity with various test techniques, including functional, parametric, and reliability testing.
  4. Leadership Skills: Proven track record of leading and managing teams, with strong skills in mentorship, performance management, and team development.
  5. Project Management: Experience in managing complex projects, including planning, execution, and resource management. Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  6. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  7. Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to addressing and resolving issues.
