As a PDE CEM Engineer, you will be primarily responsible for developing and optimizing processes to meet business case schedules. You will work on new product introductions and improve yield, quality, and reliability through process characterization and optimization, as well as the introduction of new materials, machines, and technologies. Your tasks will include performing DOE and handling NPI runs for recipe creation and verification to verify process performance and collect data for reports. Additionally, you will be required to identify, diagnose, and resolve assembly process-related problems by applying problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Execute smooth transfers of new products and packages from NPI to HVM sites
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and sites to execute smooth product transfers
  3. Validate and document baseline POR, TOR, and BOM for transferred products and packages
  4. Execute qualification of NPI packages build that proliferate from pilot products and packages according to planned timelines
  5. Execute NPI customer samples and engineering samples build for new products and packages according to planned timelines
  6. Evaluate and improve assigned assembly processes, materials, and/or equipment
  7. Participate in process, tool, and material optimization to drive best-in-class packaging solutions and ensure first-pass NPI qualification. Provide ideas for cost reduction
  8. Maintain in-depth assembly process and packaging knowledge, including materials and equipment knowledge as packaging integration
  9. Identify all process variables and optimize process and/or equipment variables
  10. Perform containment of process and equipment deviations and lead root cause finding and implement corrective actions
  11. Develop Process of Record (POR), define process edges, and center the process (CPK). Apply DOE techniques for process characterization
  12. Develop Process Capability Roadmap and evaluate equipment and/or material technologies
Requirements:
  1. Masters or bachelor's degree in an engineering field
  2. Experience in backend engineering process or assembly package technology development preferred
  3. At least 3 years of experience in the semiconductor industry, with candidates having proven experience in wire bond, die attach, encapsulation, post-encapsulation, and wafer highly encouraged to apply
  4. Excellent problem-solving skills and good data analysis, statistical analysis, and data interpretation skills
  5. A good team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  6. A highly result-driven individual with self-motivation and the ability to multitask and manage dynamic priorities
