About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Houseparent (Female Only) to join our team at UCSI International School Sdn Bhd. As a key member of our boarding community, you will be responsible for creating a safe, secure, and learner-centered environment for our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Academic Support: Provide academic guidance and support to boarding students, including supervising evening study time and assisting with academic questions.
  • Teaching and Tutoring: Teach English Writing and Reading comprehension skills to boarding students in groups or individually, as needed.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of content and topics covered for academic support, as well as student progress and achievements.
  • Communication: Communicate regularly with boarding students' teachers and the principal to ensure continuous and sustainable progress.
  • Leadership: Supervise the Assistant Houseparent and develop and manage Student Leaders to ensure effective leadership within the house.
  • Student Welfare: Ensure the safety and security of all students at all times, including meal times, weekends, and on trips.
Requirements
  • Experience: Prior experience working with children and a proven track record of teaching and working within a boarding environment.
  • Leadership: Proven experience of leading teams of people and a good understanding of the Standards for Boarding Schools.
  • Communication: High standard of written and oral communication, with excellent organizational and administrative skills.
  • Personal Qualities: Proactive, calm under pressure, and able to inspire, motivate, and support students, parents/carers, and colleagues.
