Sales Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Sales Engineer to join our team at Hatch Asia. As a Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for growing our VTS business through direct sales to new and existing accounts.
Your primary focus will be on implementing VTS strategic sales and pricing plans, promoting service products and spares in the region, and ensuring the retention and support of existing business.
You will also be responsible for developing market intelligence to better understand customer needs and trends, reporting on competitor OEM and 3rd party service activity, and providing timely reports on service sales performance.
In addition, you will be expected to effectively manage account receivables and overdue to protect working capital, develop partnerships with equipment sales teams and service operations teams to improve productivity, and provide product training, installation, and commission support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Grow in-house and field service revenue using all available service resources
- Support distribution network in the region to grow indirect service sales and provide technical support
- Ensure retention and support of existing business with a focus on growth in terms of margin, contract term, and/or coverage
- Develop market intelligence to better understand customer needs and trends
- Report on competitor OEM and 3rd party service activity
- Provide timely reports on service sales performance and maintain updated customer contacts and machine population
- Effectively manage account receivables and overdue to protect working capital
- Develop partnerships with equipment sales teams and service operations teams to improve productivity
- Provide product training, installation, and commission support
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of working within service business + experience of selling or supporting commercial proposals or 3 years of selling equipment service direct
- Recognised mechanical/electronics trade or similar preferred
- Experience with VT branded equipment highly advantageous
- Regional experience in SEA will be an advantage
- Good understanding of vacuum applications
- Strategic and analytical thinker with good communication skills and excellent negotiating skills
