About the role

The Key Account Manager (KAM) will be responsible for managing and developing the relationship with Lotus, Giant & a local Key Account. You are required to ensure the achievement of sales targets & managing trade spending (G2N) effectively for the assigned accounts. The KAM will act as the primary point of contact between Haleon and coordinating with internal teams to deliver strategic objectives and drive product visibility and sales.

Role Responsibilities

1. Account Management:

- Develop and maintain a strong relationship with key decision-makers of the assigned accounts.
- Serve as the primary liaison between Key Customers and Haleon, ensuring alignment with mutual goals.
- Regularly meet with Key Customers to review performance, identify opportunities, and address any issues.

2. Sales Strategy & Execution:

- Develop and implement a strategic sales plan tailored to key customer to achieve sales targets and market share growth.
- Monitor sales performance and analyse scan sales trends to optimize promotional activities and product assortment.
- Manage trade spending (G2N) to maximize ROI and ensure effective use of promotional funds.

3. Negotiation & Listings:

- Negotiating Trading Terms agreement with Key customers annually as well as product listings, pricing and promotional activities.
- Secure and maintain product listings, ensuring optimal shelf positioning and visibility.
- Work closely with customer’s category management to align on assortment strategies.

4. Business Review & Development Plan:

- Conduct half-yearly and annual Business Reviews with assigned customers.
- Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities within Lotus to expand product offerings and increase market penetration.
- Develop joint business plans with Lotus that include long-term growth strategies and tactical plans.

5. Forecasting & Inventory Management:

- Collaborate with demand planning and supply chain teams to ensure accurate forecasting and inventory management.
- Monitor stock levels and coordinate with customer to prevent out-of-stock situations and improve overall service level with customer.

6. Cross-functional Collaboration:

- Work closely with marketing, trade marketing, supply chain, finance, and other internal teams to ensure alignment on objectives and efficient execution of plans.
- Coordinate with Lotus’s supply chain to facilitate smooth operational processes, including order management and logistics.

7. Market Analysis & Reporting:

- Conduct regular market analysis to understand consumer trends, competitive landscape, and performance of Lotus accounts.
- Prepare and present regular reports on sales performance, market share, and other key metrics to customer.

Budget Management:

- Manage the P&L/CGM for Lotus and assigned accounts. Ensuring that all activities are contributing to the Haleon’s financial objectives.
- Monitor spending against G2N budget and provide accurate forecasts of financial performance.

Basic Qualifications:

- Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in any field.
- Min. 2-3 years of relevant sales experience/key account manager ideally within the FMCG industry is desirable.
- Experience in understand Lotus/Tesco CGM concepts and way of working is an added advantage.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to interpret data to drive insights and business recommendations.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Location - this role is based in: Ulu Kelang/Ampang
