**Job Description: Senior HR Manager – Manufacturing**

**Department:** Human Resources

**Reports To:** HR Director / Plant Manager

**Employment Type:** Full-Time

**Position Summary**

We are seeking a strategic and hands-on **Senior HR Manager** to lead and drive all Human Resources activities for our manufacturing operations. This role is critical in shaping a high-performance culture, ensuring compliance with labor laws and company policies, and fostering positive employee relations across a dynamic and diverse workforce. The Senior HR Manager will partner closely with plant leadership to align HR strategies with business objectives, while overseeing HR systems, processes, and policy implementation across the manufacturing facility.


**Key Responsibilities**

**1. HR Strategy & Business Partnership**

  • Serve as a trusted HR advisor to plant leadership and operations management.

  • Translate business goals into actionable HR initiatives that support productivity, safety, and employee engagement.

  • Analyze workforce trends and provide data-driven insights to improve organizational effectiveness.

**2. HR Policy & Compliance**

  • Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies and procedures aligned with local labor laws, industry standards, and corporate guidelines.

  • Ensure strict compliance with OSHA, EEO, FMLA, ADA, and other relevant regulations.

  • Lead internal audits and manage regulatory inspections related to HR and labor compliance.

**3. HR Systems & Process Optimization**

  • Oversee HRIS (e.g., Workday, SAP, Oracle) functionality, data integrity, and reporting for the manufacturing site.

  • Streamline HR processes (onboarding, performance management, payroll coordination, offboarding) to enhance efficiency and employee experience.

  • Drive digital transformation and automation of HR workflows where applicable.

**4. Employee & Labor Relations**

  • Proactively manage employee relations issues, including investigations, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution.

  • Partner with Legal and corporate HR on union relations (if applicable), collective bargaining, and grievance handling.

  • Promote a positive work environment through engagement initiatives, open communication, and recognition programs.

**5. Talent Management & Organizational Development**

  • Lead recruitment and retention strategies for hourly and salaried roles in a competitive manufacturing labor market.

  • Implement performance management systems and succession planning for front-line supervisors and key roles.

  • Coordinate training programs focused on safety, leadership development, and skills enhancement.

**6. HR Team Leadership**

  • Manage and mentor a team of HR professionals (HRBPs, coordinators, or generalists).

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and HR excellence.


**Qualifications**
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master's or SHRM/PHR certification preferred).

  • Minimum 8–10 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a **manufacturing or industrial environment**.

  • Proven track record in HR operations, policy development, employee/labor relations, and HR systems.

  • Strong knowledge of (or local) employment law and regulatory compliance.

  • Experience working in unionized environments is a plus.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency in HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, 24/7 manufacturing setting with frequent plant floor interaction.
