Job Description: D365 F&O Consultant (SCM)
Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations (D365 F&O) Consultant with deep experience in Supply Chain Management (SCM) and product costing, to support our migration from Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 to D365 F&O.
This role also requires hands-on involvement in integrating our in-house customized product configurator to align with D365 functionality and manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead functional design, configuration, testing, and deployment of D365 F&O Supply Chain Management modules, including:
- Inventory Management
- Procurement & Sourcing
- Order Management
- Product Information Management
- Warehouse Management
- Master Planning
- Production and Manufacturing
- Design and implement advanced costing models and strategies in D365 F&O—supporting costing accuracy across production, procurement, and inventory.
- Conduct gap analysis between AX 2012 and D365 F&O, particularly for supply chain workflows, costing logic, and configuration needs.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to manage and optimize the in-house customized product configurator, ensuring compatibility and seamless integration with D365, BOM, and pricing structures.
- Define system behavior for product configuration, parameterization, and rule-based logic that supports custom order processing and manufacturing.
- Work with technical teams to facilitate data migration, API integrations, and system customizations related to the product configurator.
- Provide training, user documentation, and ongoing support to ensure effective system adoption and usage across business units.
- Ensure the configurator aligns with D365's product models and supports operational efficiency in Make-to-Order (MTO) environments.
- Support UAT, go-live activities, and post-implementation troubleshooting.
Requirements
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Information Systems, or a related field.
Skills
- Solid understanding of business processes related to finance, manufacturing, inventory, sales, and procurement.
- Experience in industries with complex costing environments (e.g., manufacturing, direct-to-consumer).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Professional Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX, with at least 3 years in D365 F&O.
- Hands-on experience in at least three full lifecycle implementations of D365 F&O.
- Strong functional knowledge of Finance and SCM modules, with proven hands-on expertise in costing models (standard, actual, FIFO, etc.) and cost accounting configurations.
- Experience in AX 2012 to D365 F&O migrations highly preferred.
- Ability to travel and manage teams across geographies and time zones.
Certifications
- Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance Functional Consultant Associate or Supply Chain Management Functional Consultant Associate.
- Familiarity with Power Platform, and Data Entities highly preferred.
