Job Description:

  • To be well-versed in the specifications of equipment and drawings related to a power substation.
  • Analyze all suppliers to select the most suitable ones that can deliver high-quality products at competitive pricing.
  • Negotiate and discuss with suppliers on the lead time, cost, and quality. Ensure commercial, Legal, and contractual compliance in all procurement transactions.
  • Develop purchasing or sourcing strategies based on portfolio analyses and supplier referencing studies.
  • Liaise with suppliers to ensure timely delivery schedules, thereby guaranteeing on-time deliveries of the final product.
  • Ensuring the supplier/vendor understood company rules & regulations.
  • Able to keep proper records and timely reporting
  • Prepare and process PRNs and purchase orders, and evaluate vendor bids for cost-effectiveness and compliance.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation to support audits and regulatory inspections.
  • Mitigate procurement-related risks and coordinate with logistics teams for proper storage (if required) and handling of materials.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other departments to align procurement with overall project objectives.

JOB REQUIREMENT

Educational Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
  2. Certification in procurement or supply chain management is a plus.

Experience:

  1. Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in procurement, with at least 2 years in the construction or infrastructure industry.
  2. Experience with procuring materials, equipment, and services for large-scale construction projects, preferably in substation or electrical infrastructure projects.
  3. Familiarity with the procurement processes and logistics management in construction projects.

Skills:

  1. Strong understanding of procurement procedures and strategies within the construction industry.
  2. Knowledge of local and international suppliers, market trends, and material sourcing.
  3. Proficient in procurement software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  4. Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  5. Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple procurement tasks and deadlines.
  6. Ability to analyze cost-benefit scenarios and assess vendor performance.
