Head of Communications

The
Head of Communications (Malaysia)
will lead the strategic development and execution of

QI Group's communications portfolio in Malaysia, overseeing brand communications, executive

communications for leadership, corporate foundation initiatives, and employee communications.

Based in the company's Operational HQ in Petaling Jaya, this senior leadership role will manage

a team of approximately 10 professionals with diverse skill sets, including copywriters, content

creators, CSR communication specialists, and employee communications experts. The successful

candidate will be a strategic thinker with exceptional storytelling and people management skills,

serving as the primary interface with the board as required.

Key Responsibilities

• Brand Communications
  : Develop and execute a cohesive brand communication strategy for QI Group with a multi-channel approach (print, digital, Search, AI Overviews).
• Executive Communications
  : Oversee messaging for QI Group's leadership, including social media strategy and thought leadership content to enhance executive visibility and influence.
• Corporate Foundation
  : Oversee communications for QI Group's corporate foundation, promoting CSR initiatives and community impact through strategic storytelling and stakeholder engagement.
• Employee Communications
  : Oversee internal communications to foster employee engagement, alignment with company values, and a strong organizational culture across QI Group.
• Team Leadership
  : Manage and mentor a team of ~10 communications professionals with diverse functional expertise, fostering a collaborative, creative, and high-performing team environment.
• Board Engagement
  : Serve as the primary communications liaison with the board, providing strategic updates, reports, and recommendations as needed.
• Content Innovation
  : Leverage exceptional storytelling and creative out-of-the-box thinking to develop engaging content across digital, print, and multimedia platforms.
• Digital Trends & AI Tools
  : Stay ahead of digital trends and integrate AI tools to enhance creativity, streamline content production, and boost team productivity.
• PR and Media Relations
  : Work closely with PR agencies and external partners to build and maintain strong relationships with media outlets, journalists, and influencers to amplify relevant programmes and initiatives of the company and the corporate foundation.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in communications, with at least 5 years in a leadership role overseeing diverse communications functions.
• Proven expertise in brand communications, leadership/executive communications, CSR, and employee communications, preferably in Malaysia or Southeast Asia.
• Exceptional storytelling and creative skills, with a track record of developing impactful narratives and campaigns.
• Strong understanding of digital trends and experience using AI tools to enhance communications and productivity.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in English. Proficiency in additional languages is an advantage.
• Strategic mindset with the ability to align communications with business objectives and adapt to a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Excellent people management skills, with experience leading and mentoring diverse teams of 10+ members.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience interfacing with senior leadership and boards.
• Familiarity with the Malaysian market, cultural nuances, and consumer behavior.
