Provide support to the HR Department to ensure a harmonious working environment for all employees. Ensure that all employees are aware of the IR protocols and regulations, and that employees have access to the relevant handbooks when needed. Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
- Keep abreast with all updates / changes to the Employment Act, Industrial Relations Act, SOCSO Act, EPF Act, Income Tax Act, OSH Act, Minimum Wage Orders & etc to ensure compliance.
- Management of Industrial Relations documentations and arrangements – update and develop the policy and guidelines relating to disciplinary enforcement for staff to ensure adherence of natural justice and protect the Company’s interests.
- Assist the IR & ER Manager to investigate into staff misconduct, provide counseling and issue disciplinary letters to address and document staff’s wrongdoings, misconducts and non-compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Work closely with IR & ER Manager including departmental Managers with respect to disciplinary action required, including preparation of documents, investigation of any offence, scheduling hearings, and attendance at hearings.
- Assist IR & ER Manager in handling inquiries process and employees on matters relating to HR policies and procedures, IR best practice, disciplinary issues, staff grievances and labour disputes.
- Work with respective departmental Managers in managing conflict between parties and employees.
- Ensures payroll, wages, working hours, overtime calculation complies with regulatory requirement / best practices, and highlight any area of concern to IR & ER Manager.
- Able to initiate for IR policies and procedures updates and development as and when, for the Company in accordance with the best industrial practice.
- Conduct regular audit on employment related documentation, hostel, canteen, facilities, policy vs implementation, etc. to ensure full compliances (confidential information to be kept under the purview of the Manager, while non-confidential or general items can be work on with HRBP ER.
- Attending to authority audit and enquiries, besides the IRER Manager.
- Undertake other role & responsibilities that are assigned by the company and immediate superior from time to time until full closure.
REQUIREMENTS / SKILLSET:
- Bachelor’s degree in Law / Human Resource Management / or other relevant disciplines.
- 5 years of working experience in the manufacturing environment or related field.
- Familiar with Employment Act 1955 & Industrial Relation Act 1967.
- Preferably Senior Executive / Executive specializing in Industrial Relation or equivalent.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and relevant HR systems.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Results driven and able to work independently and meet present deadlines.
- Ability to work under intense pressure in a fast-paced environment and delivery within tight deadlines.
- Proactive, pay attention to details, well organized, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
- Continuously pursues to improve skills through on the job or external training.
