Director of Human Resources

The Director of Human Resources will oversee Human Resources function and be responsible over the recruiting/employment, compensation & benefits, employee relations, industrial relations, recognition programmes and training programmes to ensure compliance to policy for the employees. He/She will build and promote a positive employee culture while ensuring customers’ experience is unique. Will also coach and guide the General Manager and leadership team on all people related issues.
**JOB RESPONSIBILITIES**
Key responsibilities to include:
- Foster teamwork and positive work environment through creation of programmes such as employee recognition events, team meetings, sports and social events
- Educate and train leaders and employees on performance management processes, progressive disciplinary processes, to ensure productivity and elevate performance
- Ensure company hiring standards and government regulations processes are followed
- Conduct orientation programmes for new employees by providing information on hotel & company standards, employee benefits, policies and procedures.
- Keep up to date on current market trends and local changes that impact guest satisfaction and recommend/implement strategies for employee to respond to changing customers needs.
- Work with other department managers to develop initiatives to achive service standards and drive continuous improvement in guest interaction.
- Ensure compliance with relevant employment laws, company policies and procedures and occupational safety and health
- Investigate workplace issues to find the facts, identify potential risks and provide resolution
- Collect and maintain HR statistical datas (turnover, training needs)
- Manage labour relations with the Union and represent the company in mediations and arbitrations with respective parties
- Assist in the creation of and work within established Human Resources department budget
- Work closely with Director of Finance and other department managers in preparation of the annual Manpower Budget
- Monitor staffing and labour standards to manage costs
- Mitigate financial risks associated with employee/industrial relations issues
- Identify compensation and benefits practices and propose to ensure financial competitiveness
**The minimum qualifications for the position**:
- Tertiary education, degree in Business Management is an advantage.
- 15 years human resources experience with a minimum of 8 years leading a team in the human resources department.
- Has experience working in a unionised environment and 5-Star International Hotel.
- Computer skills (Microsoft Office and strong Excel skills)
- Willing to take responsibility and accountability.
- Willing to work on weekends and holidays if required.
Pay: RM15,000.00 - RM18,000.00 per month
