**Reports To**:
- Senior Manager, Government Relations
**Position Summary**:
- Assess overall group compliance and lead MAG compliance activities to resolve any gaps in key industry requirement. Stays abreast of developments and changes in Industry policies.
- Strategize and accomplishes MAG’s corporate objective by leveraging on key Industry platforms and manage interaction and relationship with the stakeholders to support Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) objectives.
- Propose direction on MAG’s position in Industry issues and support the preparation of industry updates to the Group Managing Director and MAG Senior Management of changes in policies and regulatory bodies.
- Assisting Government Relations team (as and when required) and develop junior staff.
**Key Accountability**:
- Assess, monitor, advise and oversee the execution of industry regulatory requirement within MAG. Develop work around solution in order to minimize risk of non-compliance exposure, when necessary.
- Represent MAG interests at industry platforms (IATA, AAPA, AACO) on aviation policy matters. Manage relationship, build network, provide feedback and work effectively with industry stakeholders.
- Propose direction on MAG’s position in Industry issues and provide summary & feedback to the Group Managing Director (GMD) and MAG Management on the Industry Working papers for all Industry Annual General Meetings.
- Accountable for managing and review of the Multilateral/bilateral Interline Transport Agreement (MITA/BITA) with interline partners to support new & ongoing commercial relationship.
- Stay abreast of industry policy changes and regulatory updates.
- Manage interactions and relationships with key stakeholders.
- Strategically negotiate and accountable for interline staff travel (duty) agreement for MAG on oneworld and non-oneworld carriers to minimise duty travel cost especially on terms that are beneficial to MAG. Manage leisure interline travel agreement that is beneficial to MAB group and its employees.
- Single point of contact (SPOC) on Industry issues for MAB Group to ensure high quality and timely provision of support and guidance to business units and subsidiaries.
- Manage relationships with stakeholders to align MAG’s goals.
**Qualifications**:
- Degree in any relevant field
- 7 years of working experience.
**Area of Experience**:
- Experience in Airline Commercial & Operations functions
**Personality Traits**:
- Exhibit confidence and leadership, and able to communicate effectively at all levels as engagement involves CEOs and Senior Management levels
- Must have knowledge in aviation industry specifically on IATA matters.
- Must have strategic planning skills to analyze complex rules into action plans. Must also be proactive, resourceful and innovative.
- Must have verbal and written advocacy skills. Ability to read and summarize reports to be concise and coherent, able to deliver last minute request and strict deadlines.
