THE ROLE
This is a unique mixed role of business development, marketing and promoting the venue and of proactively developing and managing relationships with clients.
This role (reporting to the events manager) will see you promoting the venue through a range of marketing activities that will increase revenue by bringing in new business from other prospective clients and professionals within the industry. The end-goal of this being to grow lead generation, increase occupancy and maximise commercial income from venue hire and events.A key part of your role will be to maximise the letting/renting use of the venue & event spaces with innovative and effective marketing strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Research, develop and implement the venue’s marketing strategy
- Create and roll out marketing initiatives to promote commercial bookings
- Proactively initiate and develop relationships with new clients & suppliers
- Maximize the commercial use of the venue
- Deputize for the Private Events Manager as/when required
CANDIDATE
You’ll have demonstrable experience in researching, developing and implementing venue marketing strategies and a strong background of promoting venue spaces to clients (both existing and prospective) to maximise occupancy & commercial income and grow lead generation. You’ll have a strong all-round skill set of business development, targeting new business, up-selling and client relationship building along with a good understanding of venue-side event operations and some experience of / or exposure to organise corporate, private and commercial events for guests.
You’ll need to be senior and confident enough to deputise for the Private Events Manager when needed and must have exceptional attention to detail.
From a personality point of view, you’ll be versatile & adaptable, proactive, detailed & organized and super-enthusiastic with a fantastic work ethic. You’ll also have exceptionally strong communication skills, be able to work well under pressure in a venue-side marketing and business development environment and have a genuine and natural flair for networking.
