Assistant Manager, Account Payable

We are looking for an Account Payable Team Lead to supervise the delivery of all accounts payable activities and assist the Account Payable Lead in managing the team.
**JOB DESCRIPTION**
- You will coach and train the team on day to day transaction processing and assist them with questions raised and problems.
- Assist to establish policies, procedures and controls.
- Expense coding, book to correct cost centre and obtain approval to pay from respective department head.
- Ensure timely, proper accounting and posting of information into Account Payables.
- Perform Balance Sheet account reconciliation and aging on a monthly basis.
- Handle accounts payable transactions and accounting queries from other departments.
- Assist in preparing monthly accounting statement, analysis and report.
- Work closely with the finance team to ensure efficient month-end closing.
- You will be tasked with opportunities for Continuous Improvement initiatives.
**EDUCATION**
A recognized degree or diploma in Finance / Accounting or related disciplines, or professional qualification such as CIMA, ACCA or CPA.
**EXPERIENCE**
- Minimum 5 years' experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory position, preferably in retail industry.
- Has been trained and had extensive exposure in Oracle accounting transactions. Has applied skills in various industries.
- Extensive and in-depth knowledge and understanding in complex working environment.
- Good command of PC knowledge (e.g. Excel, Words, PowerPoint and etc.)
- Knowledge of local tax is an added advantage
- Meticulous and ability to perform job with accuracy.
