Job Purpose

The Head of Business Development (B2C) is responsible for leading the Outstation team across four main regions in Malaysia. Key ResponsibilitiesGrow Enrolment
  • Manage National Sales (New Local & Transfer Market) for the four regions, including support for other sales departments as needed.
  • Accountable for the Outstation team's performance in achieving National and Regional Sales Targets and Growth by annual cycles.
  • Manage Local Agents' performance in achieving Regional Sales Targets and Growth for both Taylor's University and Taylor's College.
  • Operationalize account management strategies, initiatives, processes, and best practices for managing strategic alliances with Local Agents.
  • Support market intelligence and information gathering on competitors' offerings.
Wow Student Experience
  • Ensure excellent customer service is provided to new prospective students, parents, and recruitment agents through all channels.
  • Ensure timely responses to all enrolment-related requests.
  • Manage stock inventory and maintenance of promotional materials and merchandise for the team.
Cost Leadership
  • Support optimizing the Sales Cost of Acquisition through improved process efficiency and productivity.
  • Assist in producing relevant reports as requested by the Manager.
  • Strategize and implement sales and marketing plans for targeted markets to increase student enrolment, working closely with the Institutional Marketing Department.
  • Plan, implement, and participate in major student recruitment activities, including education fairs, Open Days, and special events.

School Marketing in Chinese Independent Schools (UEC)
  • Responsible for overall school marketing planning and implementation of strategies for the UEC market across all regions in Malaysia.

  • Plan and monitor the annual budget for marketing and recruitment activities.
  • Manage and liaise with key stakeholders on resources for marketing and recruitment activities.
  • Overall responsibility for all operations of the regional office.
Student Recruitment Operations & Support
  • Support market intelligence and information gathering on competitors' offerings.
  • Develop and implement data analytics with the Marketing Insights team to measure progress and performance.
  • Monitor, track, and develop action plans to mitigate gaps toward achieving student recruitment targets.
  • Responsible for developing and executing sales promotional activities along the customer journey from Lead to Registered Student.
Job SpecificationMinimum Academic/Professional Qualification

Degree in Business/Management/Marketing or related discipline.

Related Experience
  • At least 10 years of working experience in an educational environment with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.
  • Business development and account management experience in the education environment preferred.
  • Experience in regional sales execution is an added advantage.
Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
  • Strong selling and counseling capabilities; customer service experience.
  • Familiar with sales tools, processes, and technological development.
  • Knowledge of Higher Education products, customer profiling, and competitor profiling.
  • Knowledge of ATL, BTL, digital marketing, and feeder school marketing & branding approaches.
  • Proficient in English, Bahasa Malaysia, and/or Mandarin; ability to read, write, and speak Mandarin is compulsory.
  • Knowledge and skills in using Microsoft software applications.

  • Strong attitude, motivation, and passion for Higher Education.
  • Sales-driven with excellent presentation and communication skills.
