Position : Legal and Compliance Officer

Salary : RM 4,000 - RM 6,000

Location : Kuala Lumpur

**Job Scope**:

- Review, draft, structure, and negotiate a broad range of commercial contracts (e.g., NDAs, service agreements, leases) in line with company objectives and timelines.
- Liaise with internal departments and external clients to support contract negotiations and respond to legal inquiries.
- Provide practical legal advice on day-to-day operational issues, including dispute resolution and risk assessment.
- Establish and maintain a contracts management system to improve legal efficiency and compliance.
- Conduct legal research and track regulatory developments relevant to recruitment, real estate, and related sectors.
- Advise on matters related to intellectual property, employment law, data privacy, anti-money laundering (AML), and cybersecurity.
- Draft and implement internal policies and procedures to support compliance with local and international laws.
- Perform due diligence, KYC reviews, and transaction monitoring in accordance with AML/CFT regulations.
- Conduct customer screening, enhanced due diligence (EDD), and investigations of suspicious activities.
- Collaborate with legal, compliance, audit, and operations teams to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements.
- Deliver basic legal and compliance training to foster awareness and a culture of compliance across the organization.
- Prepare compliance reports and maintain documentation to support audits and regulatory inspections.
- Assess legal implications of new business opportunities and recommend strategies to mitigate legal risks.
- Undertake other legal or compliance-related responsibilities as assigned.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) and admission to the Bar.
- 3-5 years of post-qualification experience in legal, compliance, or regulatory roles.
- Industry experience in real estate, financial services, or multinational corporations is preferred.
- AML/CFT certification is an added advantage.
- Prior experience as a legal assistant, executive, or associate is desirable.
- Exposure to both in-house advisory and litigation work is strongly preferred.
- Strong legal analysis, critical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; able to work independently and collaboratively.
- Agile, adaptable, and capable of handling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Up to RM6,000.00 per month
