About the role

Adabi Consumer Industries Sdn Bhd is seeking a talented Legal Officer (Executive) to join our dynamic team in Rawang, Selangor. In this full-time position, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive legal support and advice to ensure the company's operations and practices comply with all relevant laws and regulations.

What you'll be doing

  1. Review, draft, negotiate and manage wide range legal documentation for commercial transactions (including non-disclosure agreements, tenancy agreements, sales and purchase agreements, MOUs, letters of offers, license agreements, service agreements, construction contracts etc) entered into by the company and identify legal issues with solutions as well as participate in and support business teams on contract negotiations.
  2. Rendering legal advice to the Management and business operations in legal matters affecting the Group as well as conducting research, identifying, and providing updates on the latest legal cases and legislation affecting the Group.
  3. To provide the necessary support and advise to business units on legal related matters and advising on the potential impact and ways to mitigate the exposure.
  4. Advise Management on transactions and ensure all legal documentation on transactions are prepared and completed accurately and on a timely manner.
  5. Advise the Management in relation to corporate legal matters / issues.
  6. Advise on and participate in dispute resolution, processes and manage litigious matters with external lawyers and management of the legal proceedings, oversee the litigation or arbitration processes.
  7. Monitor and liaise with lawyers/agents on all trademark and other intellectual property matters for the Group of companies.
  8. Attend to ad-hoc legal matters assigned by the Management.

What we're looking for

  1. Bachelor's Degree in Law (LLB) or equivalent
  2. Minimum 2–3 years of working experience in legal practice or corporate legal department
  3. Good command of both written and spoken Bahasa Malaysia and English.
  4. Resourceful and proactive, with excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  5. A good team player with good interpersonal skills.
  6. Adaptable to a fast-paced working environment.
  7. Skilled in using Microsoft Office.
  8. Experience in prepare, review, and manage commercial transaction is desirable.
  9. Familiar with dispute resolution process including litigation and ADR Processes.
