Job Summary:
The Director of Sales & Marketing is responsible for developing and implementing the hotel's overall sales and marketing strategy to maximize revenue, market share, and brand visibility. This role provides strategic leadership for all sales, catering, conference, and marketing activities, ensuring alignment with the hotel's positioning and business objectives. The Director leads the Sales & Marketing team (cluster marketing for Tiong Nam Hospitality), manages key client relationships, drives digital and traditional marketing initiatives, and collaborates closely with the operations team to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Sales Leadership:
- Develop and execute annual sales & marketing plans to achieve revenue and market
share goals.
- Identify and penetrate new business opportunities across corporate, leisure, MICE,
and travel trade segments.
- Maintain strong relationships with global accounts, travel partners, and high-value
clients.
- Negotiate and close major business contracts, ensuring profitability and brand
alignment.
- Represent the hotel at industry trade shows, roadshows, and networking events.
· Marketing & Brand Management:
Develop and execute the cluster's marketing and communication strategies to enhance brand awareness and positioning.
· Oversee digital marketing, e-commerce, and social media activities across all hotels.
· Ensure consistency in brand identity, messaging, and visual standards in all marketing materials.
· Manage relationships with PR agencies, media partners, and creative vendors.
· Implement joint marketing campaigns to drive cross-property demand.
· Create alignment and collaboration among all property DOSMs and marketing teams.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead, coach, and motivate the sales & marketing team, setting clear performance
goals.
- Conduct regular training sessions to enhance selling, negotiation, and presentation
skills.
- Promote a culture of accountability, creativity, and service excellence.
Revenue & Financial Management:
- Work closely with Revenue Management to align pricing, distribution, and sales
strategies.
- Prepare and manage the department's budget; ensure revenue targets and profit
margins are achieved.
- Analyse sales reports, market data, and competitor activity to guide strategy.
- Control expenses while maximizing ROI on marketing and promotional activities.
Guest Experience & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate with operations teams to ensure guest needs and expectations are met.
- Manage VIP clients and ensure exceptional service delivery for special events and
conferences.
- Act as the hotel's brand ambassador, building strong external relationships.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Marketing, or Hospitality Management.
- 8–10 years of progressive sales & marketing experience in luxury hotels, including
senior leadership roles.
- Proven track record in driving revenue growth across multiple market segments.
- Strong leadership and strategic thinking abilities.
- Excellent negotiation, networking, and presentation skills.
- In-depth knowledge of digital marketing, revenue management, and distribution
channels.
- Proficiency in CRM systems, Opera Sales & Catering, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Fluency in English; additional languages preferred.
Working Conditions:
- Requires flexibility to travel for business, attend trade shows, and host client events.
- Fast-paced office and client-facing role with frequent external meetings.
- Professional business attire and impeccable grooming required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: RM7, RM9,000.00 per month
