About the role

This full-time General Manager position at MITIME CONSTRUCTION MALAYSIA SDN BHD' is an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader to oversee the day-to-day operations of the company's Kota Kinabalu, Sabah office. As the General Manager, you will be responsible for driving the strategic direction and growth of the business, ensuring operational efficiency and profitability.

What you'll be doing

  1. Providing overall leadership and direction to the Kota Kinabalu-based team
  2. Developing and implementing business strategies to achieve company goals and objectives
  3. Overseeing all aspects of the company's operations, including project management, financial management, and resource allocation
  4. Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders
  5. Identifying and capitalising on new business opportunities to drive growth
  6. Ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards
  7. Monitoring and reporting on the company's performance, and implementing corrective actions as needed

What we're looking for

  1. Proven track record of successful leadership experience, preferably in the construction or related industry
  2. Excellent strategic and operational management skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions
  3. Strong financial acumen and experience in managing budgets and driving profitability
  4. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams
  5. Proven ability to identify and capitalise on new business opportunities
  6. Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field
  7. Proficiency in Mandarin, English and Bahasa Malaysia
