Job Summary: The Proposal Engineer is responsible for preparing and delivering high-quality technical and commercial proposals in response to client requirements. This role involves understanding project specifications, coordinating with various departments, and ensuring that all proposals align with company standards and client expectations. The Proposal Engineer will play a key role in supporting the sales team by providing accurate and timely proposals to secure new projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Proposal Development: Prepare comprehensive technical and commercial proposals based on client specifications, tender documents, and industry standards.
  • Requirement Analysis: Analyze client requirements, project specifications, and scope of work to ensure proposals meet the desired objectives and are competitive.
  • Cost Estimation: Conduct detailed cost analysis, including material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs, to develop accurate pricing for proposals.
  • Technical Support: Collaborate with internal teams (engineering, procurement, sales, etc.) to gather necessary technical and commercial information to support proposal preparation.
  • Documentation: Create, review, and edit technical documents, drawings, and specifications to ensure accuracy and compliance with client requirements.
  • Bid Management: Manage the entire bid process, including pre-bid meetings, clarifications, and submission deadlines, ensuring timely delivery of proposals.
  • Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks associated with projects and incorporate mitigation strategies into proposals.
  • Client Communication: Liaise with clients to clarify requirements, address questions, and provide additional information throughout the proposal process.
  • Market Research: Conduct research on competitors, market trends, and client expectations to enhance proposal strategies and increase win rates.
  • Continuous Improvement: Implement feedback from past proposals to improve the quality and competitiveness of future submissions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Environmental or related field) or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills.
  • Proficient in using proposal management software, MS Office Suite, and relevant engineering tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.) preferable.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • May require occasional travel to attend client meetings, site visits, or bid presentations.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: RM2, RM3,000.00 per month
