As Strategic Product Manager (SPM), you will report to Global Business Director for General Industrial Liquid, responsible for global product portfolio management activities within our General Industrial Liquid business cluster, comprising the Heavy-Duty Equipment, Transportation and General Finishes market segments. You will be playing an important strategic role at the interface of our commercial, technical and operations teams with impact on business growth and profitability in all regional geographies.

You will Integrate various external and internal inputs to address all elements of the product portfolio lifecycle (ideation, creation, new product development, launch, maturity and end-of-life), you will facilitate market share gain and business profitability, develop, prioritize, communicate, implement, and manage product portfolio strategies and action plans.

**Main Responsibilities**:

- Support the establishment of winning segment strategies through provision of inputs on key megatrends, regulatory landscape dynamics and other market intelligence.
- Construct and maintain the portfolio product roadmap (including multi-generational product planning and product lifecycle management). Ensure clear communication of roadmap within segment and across regions with various stakeholder groups.
- Plan, prioritize, communicate, implement, and manage the new product development pipeline, including articulation of value proposition, product positioning and design requirements, business case development and launch planning for specific projects.
- Lead Leverage Point analysis for critical global platform launches and recommend price capture/margin lift approach based on quantifiable benefits. Drive deployment of value selling training programs for sales and business development teams.
- Deliver market, product, and value-based sales collateral and sales training to support front-line commercial teams. Work with Marketing Communications on promotion and positioning for new product launches.
- Analyze financial performance across entire product portfolio; identify actions to sustain or enhance profitability, working with various functional stakeholders.
- Provide globally coordinated product selection recommendations for ClientLink opportunity fulfilment and commercial pipeline execution.
- Contribute to the development and execution of the strategic plan for product platform optimization and rationalization, ensuring that portfolio offerings meet market needs and support organic growth and complexity reduction objectives.
- Provide leadership, management and support to all internal functions to ensure alignment of product related strategies, improvement opportunities and to execute activities successfully.

Key competencies required:

- Technical or business degree in a relevant discipline, post-graduate qualifications a plus;
- Customer-focused mindset;
- Analytical approach with an enthusiasm for extracting insights from large data sets with adoption of value-in-use models and various statistical tools;
- Strong business/financial acumen and strategic thinking capability;
- Highly effective communications skills (verbal and written);
- Excellent negotiating skills, capable of driving change internally and externally;
- Ability to work with a large degree of autonomy, capable of mobilizing actions and people across a large, global organization;
- Proven track record working in a global business and highly matrixed environment;
- Desire to lead and successfully collaborate with staff of different cultures and educational backgrounds.
