Senior Manager, Quality Control

The Senior Manager, Quality Control & Engineering Department is responsible for leading all quality assurance, vehicle inspection, and process engineering activities within the CKD (Completely Knocked Down) Production Division. This role ensures that all locally assembled vehicles and components meet corporate quality standards, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction expectations. The incumbent will drive continuous improvement initiatives, manage supplier quality, and support localization and engineering change activities.
Key Responsibilities:1. Quality Management
· Lead, plan, and supervise the implementation of quality control procedures across the assembly line and incoming parts inspection.
· Establish and maintain the CKD quality management system (QMS) in alignment with corporate standards (e.g., ISO/TS 16949, IATF
· Analyze defect trends, warranty claims, and in-line rework data to identify root causes and drive permanent corrective actions.
· Oversee vehicle audit and final inspection activities to ensure product conformity and readiness for delivery.
· Liaise with OEM headquarters on quality reporting, audit compliance, and product improvement actions.
2. Process & Engineering· Lead the Engineering Section in developing and optimizing assembly processes for safety, efficiency, and quality consistency.
· Oversee process validation, jig and fixture design, and tooling improvement.
· Support new model introduction (NMI) and localization activities through engineering evaluation and pilot build trials.
· Implement continuous improvement programs such as Kaizen, Poka-Yoke, and 5S in the production environment.
· Ensure technical documentation, control plans, and work instructions are up to date and effectively communicated.
3. Supplier Quality & Material Control· Manage supplier quality development for CKD and local parts, ensuring compliance with specifications and delivery standards.
· Conduct supplier audits and drive corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) for nonconformities.
· Collaborate with the Procurement and R&D teams to ensure early involvement of Quality in supplier selection and approval.
4. People Management & Leadership· Lead, train, and mentor a multidisciplinary team of engineers, inspectors, and technicians.
· Establish departmental KPIs and monitor performance to ensure targets for quality, cost, and delivery are met.
· Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the Quality & Engineering teams.
5. Reporting & Compliance· Prepare and present monthly quality performance reports to management.
· Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements in all QC and engineering operations.
· Represent the company during customer audits, external inspections, and government regulatory reviews.
Qualifications & Requirements:Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering (Master's preferred).
Experience: Minimum 10–12 years of working experience in automotive or manufacturing quality and process engineering, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
Technical Skills:
• Strong knowledge of CKD/assembly operations and automotive quality systems.
• Proficiency in problem-solving tools (8D, FMEA, SPC, PPAP, APQP).
• Experience with quality standards such as ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and ISO 14001.
• Familiarity with CAD/CAM tools and process simulation software is an advantage.
