Assistant Director of Event and Catering

Job Summary
Assistant Director of Catering (ADC) is a leadership role responsible for proactively driving the resort's catering sales revenue. The ADC manages the sales efforts for banquet events, conferences, weddings, and other social and corporate functions. This role supports the Director of Sales & Marketing or Director of F&B in developing strategies, managing budgets, and ensuring the smooth execution of all booked events.
Key Responsibilities
1. Revenue Generation and Sales Management
- Sales Strategy: Assist in developing and executing the annual Catering Sales action plan and budget to achieve and exceed resort revenue goals.
- Business Development: Actively solicit, qualify, and close new catering business from corporate, MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions), and social segments.
- Negotiation & Contracting: Lead negotiations with clients and external planners, design creative event packages, and ensure accurate contracts are generated, signed, and processed.
- Forecasting: Prepare and manage catering sales revenue and operation budgets, providing accurate forecasting reports to the management team.
- Up-Selling: Maximize revenue for every opportunity by actively up-selling food, beverage, and additional services (e.g., audio-visual, decor).
2. Client Servicing and Event Planning
- Client Relationship: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, clients, and vendors.
- Site Inspections: Conduct professional site inspections and client entertaining to showcase the resort's banquet and event spaces.
- Event Documentation: Ensure seamless turnover of booked business to the Events Operations team by preparing accurate, detailed, and timely Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and function sheets.
- Execution Support: Act as the main client contact during the planning phase and potentially during the execution of large, complex events, ensuring service excellence.
3. Leadership and Administration
- Team Support: Support and motivate the Catering Sales team members, providing training and monitoring progress toward team sales goals.
- Market Analysis: Keep current with market trends, competitors' strengths and weaknesses, and economic trends to develop effective sales positioning.
- Systems: Ensure accurate use of the hotel's Property Management System (PMS) and Sales & Catering system for booking space and managing client accounts.

Pay: RM6, RM9,000.00 per month
